In the fall of 2012, I found myself in a matter of a two-week period suddenly living in the south. In the blink of an eye, I went from having a career in higher education, living outside of Philadelphia, surrounded by our family whenever we needed them, to packing up our entire lives, leaving everyone and thing we knew and relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, all while newly married.
I kept wondering, “how am I going to be a full-time housewife?”
Ian and I never thought in a million years that we would ever leave our home state, but when opportunity knocks, and you know the long-term benefits of leaving are worth it – you hunt down moving boxes, hire movers, quit your job, and figure things out along the way.
So this is where I find myself, navigating through another year in the south and still asking myself “how am I a housewife?”
My journey to now has not always been the easiest; I made the sacrifice of my career to support my husband with his goals and long-term dreams, but in the end, it has become my dream to see him succeed in all that he has done for us through the years.
So welcome to my OUR journey of making this crazy adventure work in the South!
